? Fall

Fall? Well we had snow early although it is all gone now. However we also had lots of wind, our trees really didn't have a chance to change color before they were frozen and then were blown off by the winds.

We have had not half bad weather in the first week of November. No snow which is great, but I so love the changing colors of the leaves so I went into my external hard drive and found some pics from 2 yrs ago that I took and made a page. I was actually looking for the pics that I took last year when I was in the smokey mountains, the colors are so vibrant there, alas they are buried deep in my 1 terabyte EHD one day soon I will find them LOL

Sweet Isabella

This is my best friends great niece, Isabella, we had so much fun while her mom was pregnant with her going shopping for her we sent enough clothes in different sizes to last her till she was five. However in this pic she is wearing her moms blouse. Isabella looks very much like my girlfriends daughter when she was little. When I saw Linda's latest word art I just had to use it to make a page.  I applied a layer style to it to match the page. Bkg made using a gradient and applying fibers. I used angel brushes by sigrid (that was the only name with it) and applied a layer style to them as well. The wood frame I made with the same technique as the bkg. I made it look like she is reaching for them.

Down in Cow Town

These past few days I have been teaching a workshop for my second job. I am in our rival city it is always our city vs Calgary lol. The hotel I am staying at is right across from the Calgary tower. So I most times have my camera with me and decided to take some pictures of the tower. Of course I am at ground level and looking up with the camera and even with out, and the clouds moving I get dizzy, so I have to lean up against something or I would probably fall over lol. I wanted to get a close up of the top of the tower as well as to show how high up it is. It is cool and windy here no snow as of yet although they are forcasting snow. I just hope that when I have to head home tomorrow the roads will be okay. It is a 3 and 1/2 hr drive.

The colors of fall

I used the  Sept challenge template and used bkgs from sing me gently by sarahh and sgd zen, the pic I took at a local park. I had never used a template before. So this was my first attempt.

Autumn

I used a tutorial from scrappers guide to do the picture with the word http://www.scrappersguide.com/tips_el/text-mats/
I used one bkg from wlop forest and then blended it with one from el and I used the bridge leaves and stitches from CAJ.SCR.FR KIT COULEURS D'AUTOMNE. The picture I took on one of my excursions

Blessed beyond measure

My friend and her son, I am blessed beyond measure to have watched her children grow, and to have her as a friend. I used a textured overlay action from actionfx. I used a pic I had taken last year and used the action to make overlays and blended them together and used two layers of the pic to blend into the bkg. the WA is from Linda her blinkie for the WA is on the right Random thoughts by Linda. I added a layer style to it.

Climbing into the past

I have taken pics of this old abandoned house before, but this is from this year. I used papers from Irene Alexeeva recolored and used a ladder and stone from another kit I downloaded via digifree, but don't remember the designer floral cluster from Raspberry roads. We had snow here for the past week but it started melting today and it is supposed to be quite nice tomorrow. I hate winter more than I hate the heat lol.

I heard Miss Scarlett was feeling under the weather, and that Miss Boots and Thelma were looking after her. Get well soon Miss Scarlett I don't know how much of their nursing you can handle. Love you and get well real  soon

The Old Barn

I extracted the barn then placed some chicken wire I made behind it and used some elements from wlop in the forest. All of this was placed on the background made by Miss Linda a dear friend. Thanks my friend love it

OH THE WEATHER IS FRIGHTFUL......

Just some fall pictures I took today, the weather was cold and windy, I can feel it in my bones that winter is coming and I so hate that thought I love fall but it means that we will soon be shoveling snow

Oh once again Miss Thelma.....

Our own Miss Thelma was invited to audition for the Ballet Met and was chosen to join the seniors ballet troupe. Keep watching for updates as she just might make it to the nutcracker auditions. Here she is in the outfit she wore for her first appearance.

More playing............

I changed the scene from daytime to night time, added the moon and played with the lighting effects. As well I again desaturated the pic and used the history brush to colorize the boat.

This is a pic I took in Maui and what I did was desaturate the pic after duplicating it. Then I used the history brush to recolorize the flowers. I got this from a tutorial here http://www.lonestardigital.com/history_brush.htm I also put a copyright sign on it as I up load my pics full size. So was just playing around trying to learn something new lol

OH no not again.....

Oh Miss Gerri has kept the RR busy yesterday at Niagra Falls sitting by the barrel, and today he caught her enjoying a cold one. She said she was going to Buffalo, but as we see here she is sitting and relaxing drinking a cold one WITH the Buffalo! Al my sympathies, Miss Gerri can be too much. You wouldn't catch me sitting that close to one. Love you Miss G. Now I am headed for a hiding place, hehehe

And with the nice weather..................

The farmers are I am sure enjoying this hot weather so that they can finish harvesting the grain. I caught these two combines just booting it on the field spewing dust behind them.

More pics from yesterdays excursion

These are pictures of a Sihk Temple that is along the highway that I took yesterday. From the time they started building it it still is not completely done. However it is beautiful. If you click on the pic it should enlarge and you can see the details. It will be another scorcher today. WOW fall is surprising us for a little bit. Although here in Alberta you wait five minutes and the weather could change.

Oh the weather was fine today...............

Well the weather here was just gorgeous 30* C or for those who still use Fahrenheit 86*. So I took the two front panels off the jeep and went cruising to take some pics. Now the old barn you have seen before and yes it is still standing barely but still up, the other two are from another area where I hadn't driven before. And I stopped and took a pic of the pigeons all lined up in a row. For the first day of fall it sure was gorgeous and I sure enjoyed driving my jeep again. Soon enough we will have snow and it will not be nice enough to go half topless hahaha

In Memory of a wonderful Actor.....

August 18, 1952 – September 14, 2009
I was saddened to learn that Patrick Swayze lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. I so enjoyed his movies especially Dirty Dancing and Ghost, those were my two favorites. Although I enjoyed his other movies as well. RIP Patrick.

Miss Gerri and the voices
